日本の南インド料理のリーディングレストランの一つとして数えられる店が閉店となりました。「ムット」の閉店。いろいろな言葉が各方面からたくさん出ています。その気持ちは大変によくわかるよ。
もちろんムットさん本人じゃなきゃ今の彼の気持ちがどんななのかはわからない。でも時間や事象の流れの中で、病気もキツかろうし、大変な思いをしてあの狭い厨房で20年も料理を作り続けてきた彼が、ここで少し休んで楽になるのだ、という考え方もあると思うんです。それは、そういうのはいいのではないかと思っています。
本当に色々あるけれど、ムットさんの気持ちの安らぎと健康だけを祈りたい。わたしたちのあれが食べたいとかこうしたいというのは小さなことだからね。ゆめゆめそのこと、お忘れなく。
